Beverly Broadman, who died last night, was one of the last of the old-school journalists. She was a fixture on CNN’s Natdesk, and I got to know her first as a colleague of my father’s, then as a colleague of my own. She suffered from arthritis that twisted her hands well before their time, yet never complained, lived for the job, and was completely cool and focused when all hell was raining down. I was surprised to find a huge number of tributes online, but wanted to direct you in particular to this one: http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/28/an-original-in-every-sense/ Bev was a class act. I’ll miss her.
